Okay. So I do not normally understand the hype of cafes which are so popular that you can either wait two hours for your seat, or make a booking for the next week. However, Drip Cafe was so highly raved about that I had to give it a go. Which of course, I had no luck getting seat the first time I went because I refused to wait for 2 hours. However, not willing to give up, I decided to make a booking for a couple of days later.
Initially, the staff told me that it was fully booked till Monday (which is a week after), and I told him that I wouldn't be in Taipei anymore because I ain't Taiwanese (Of course thanks to my "I cannot speak chinese, talk to me in english" acting skills). In the end, the staff decided to slip me in for a booking the next day right when the cafe opens. My name and number was written outside their table booking list, which was full for that day. :')
Thank you awesome staff, and I'm sorry for lying to you about not being able to speak chinese. haha. I was desperate to get a seat okay....

Right beside Voodoo Cafe
Ridiculous queue even before it opens
Approximately only 20 tables in the whole cafe
We were limited to a total dining time of 2 hours only.
Self service water, napkins and cutleries.
Like most cafes in Taipei, there is also a minimum order of one drink per person. Drip cafe is well known for their cronuts, however because we were hungry, we decided to give their food a try as well.
Iced Green Tea 冰綠茶 (NT 100)
This one doesn't taste much like tea. Tastes more like super diluted tea/water - but it was okay, since I initially wanted only water, but there was a minimum order of one drink per person.
Drip Coffee 冰特調咖啡 (NT 130)
On top of the coffee was blow torched brown sugar.
Cheese Steak 牛肉起司三明治 (NT 220)
Literally every table around us had this one ordered! Inside the sandwich was sauteed mushroom, soy sauce seasoned beef topped with melted cheese. The beef was a little tough and hard to chew, however, I really really liked the cold potato salad on the side!
Spinach Prawn Pasta 菠菜蝦面 (NT 210)
The spinach prawn pasta was too sour at first bite and not fragrant from any buttery garlic spices like we thought it would be. It was topped with chopped peanuts and is slightly spicy.
The prawn on the other hand was very fresh and very well handled. It was deveined properly by the chefs from a small slit near it's tail (No cut on the body of the prawn).
For it's taste, I do not recommend this one, but there are a lot of pastas to choose from their menu (I see a lot of people order green coloured pasta).
After we're done with our meal, it's time for the star of the day, the strawberry cronuts.
Strawberry Cronut 可拿滋,草莓 (NT 210)
The legendary, to die for cronuts. Seriously the best cronuts I have ever had in my life.
First, their cronuts was fried to pure perfection, crispy on the outside, a combination of chewy and flaky on the inside. The inside was layered with sweet custard and sliced strawberries and it was dusted with powdered sugar. There was a big dollop of strawberry ice cream, drizzled with strawberry puree and generously topped with fresh ripe strawberries on the side, accompanied with a small container of sweet condensed milk.
The combination of the dessert itself was phenomenal and it felt like love at first bite. lol. Seriously so good I'd come back just for their cronuts!!
